This applied-for AIDS 2026 Affiliated Independent Event would showcase successful and high-impact community or key population led interventions which are making a difference in Asia Pacific and African region and helping people with HIV lead normal lives and address TB-HIV co-infections as well.

It will also show integrated responses for addressing other HIV-related co-infections and co-morbidities.

We need to scale person-centred, rights-based and community-led solutions and keep the promise of 2030 targets of ending AIDS and TB both. We cannot shift the goalposts because we can bridge the deadly divide between what-we-know-works and what-we-do. It is time for accountability.

Thanks to science- and evidence-based and community-led proven tools and approaches we have today, no one should get newly infected with HIV or die of AIDS-related illnesses. Undetectable equals untransmittable or U equals U or U=U must be a reality in lives of all people with HIV. No person living with HIV should get infected with latent TB or develop active TB disease or suffer without standard treatment or die of any preventable infection like TB.
