Shanti Devi Memorial Health Justice Lecture Series

Shanti Devi Memorial Health Justice Lecture Series, is a series of online lectures/ e-talks exploring inter-sectoral solutions for specific health problems. Health is an outcome, determinant and enabler of sustainable development.

Shanti Devi Memorial (SDM) Health Justice Lecture Series feature noted health experts from around the world who have devotedly worked on specific health issues and interlinkages within health sector, as well as between health and non-health sectors. The focus of each lecture is to explore solutions that require inter-sectoral collaboration for improving specific programme outcomes.
This lecture is streamed live on YouTube on second Friday of every month (preferably). The invited expert presents for 20-25 minutes followed by an interactive session featuring discussion, comments and questions and answers (35 minutes).

SDM Health Justice Lecture Series was instituted by CNS on World Environment Day 2017 underlining the direct impact environment has on health security.

About Mrs Shanti Devi Shankhdhar

Shanti Devi was born in rural parts of Uttar Pradesh (UP) India and despite odds and challenges of social and economic inequalities, fuelled by gender disparities, she not only boldly confronted these stereotypes but also lived her life upholding values, and having a life-influencing impact on others. She passed away on 21st December 2006. One of her children, Professor (Dr) Rama Kant continues to champion the social and health justice cause and is a chief medical advisor to CNS.
