Group health insurance for newspaper persons and families

Media Nest, a Lucknow-based pan-India forum of journalists that works for the welfare of media persons and their families has initiated a group medical insurance for newspaper persons and their families. The premium rates will be highly subsidized and as per health insurance norms will be 100 per cent exempt from income tax. Read more

Over 30 families (150 individuals) of media persons have already given their details for getting this insurance cover. However the formalities will be completed after an interface with the representatives of health insurance companies and those desirous of availing the facility.

Giving this information senior journalist and secretary general of Media Nest, Kulsum Talha, said that a meeting for this has been slated for June 12 from 10.30 to 11.30 at UP Press Club.  

The same day (12th June) from 9 am to 10.30 at the same venue, a one hour ‘yoga for health’ session is also being organized by Media Nest.

Members of Delhi based Dhyan Foundation will be conducting this yoga session. All those interested may please send in their names

The scheduled second Saturday Media 4 Children this fortnight on 12th June coincides with Child Labour Day. UNICEF is organizing a special programme on this day at Pariyatan Bhawan, Gomtinagar. Media Nest members are requested to kindly be present there from 11.45 am. A special interaction with former child workers has been organized for the media persons at the venue.
