CNS around World No Tobacco Day 2016

CNS in association with key partners globally and in Lucknow, India was actively involved in a range of activities around World No Tobacco Day 2016. Here is a WNTD 2016 snapshot:

* Photographs of two WNTD 2016 events: A workshop was conducted in association with Hope Initiative and Nirvan Hospital; followed by another meeting organized by several organizations such as Utthan Welfare Society, Yuva Shakti Sangathan, Acharya Narendra Dev Chhatra Sabha, Achyut Patwardhan Bal Sabha, Socialist Party (India), Vote For Health campaign, Asha Parivar and CNS in Lohia Mazdoor Bhawan, Narhi, Hazratganj, Lucknow where Professor (Dr) Rama Kant and Rahul Dwivedi were resource people along with Magsaysay Awardee Dr Sandeep Pandey and CNS Executive Director Shobha Shukla. A play was staged by Achyut Patwardhan Bal Sabha girls against addictions.

* Webinar in lead up to World No Tobacco Day
CNS hosted a webinar in lead up to World No Tobacco Day 2016. The panel of experts were:

* Prof (Dr) Rama Kant, WHO Director-General's Awardee for tobacco control (2005); former President of Association of Surgeons of India (ASI);

* Dr Tara Singh Bam, Regional Advisor (Tobacco Control - Asia Pacific), International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (The Union)

* John Stewart, Deputy Campaigns Director, Corporate Accountability International

* Yvona Tous, Policy Advisor, Framework Convention Alliance (FCA) for Tobacco Control

* Rahul Dwivedi, Director, Vote For Health campaign, Country Coordinator of APACT Youth Action Network (AYAN) and member of GYAT
