Parliamentarians in Asia Pacific need to unite to #endtobacco & #beatNCDs

This Podcast features Nepal's former Minister for Health and Population, and current Member of Parliament (MP), Khagaraj Adhikari, who was in conversation with CNS Managing Editor Shobha Shukla, at the 4th Summit of APCAT (Asia Pacific Cities Alliance for Tobacco Control and NCDs Prevention) in Bogor, Indonesia.

He shares how a major tobacco industry (Surya), had not only not followed Nepal government's decision for stronger, effective graphic warnings on all tobacco products, but that industry took legal recourse and case is still pending in Court. He wishes if industries and businesses comply with all public health laws and policies and decisions. Industry should not be allowed to act against public health or people's interests.

Khagaraj Adhikari reflects how a regional parliamentary caucus in Asia and the Pacific help strengthen tobacco control and NCDs prevention efforts as well as collectively fight tobacco industry interference in public health policy.

And a lot more! Listen to this interview!
