SHE & Rights session is organised by: Global Center for Health Diplomacy and Inclusion (CeHDI), International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), Asian-Pacific Resource and Research Centre for Women (ARROW), Asia Pacific Media Alliance for Health, Gender and Development Justice (APCAT Media), Gujarat AIDS Awareness and Prevention Unit (GAP), and CNS.
This SHE & Rights session will present on growing anti-rights and anti-gender pushbacks and its impact on human right to health including the global AIDS response. It will also help us understand how these pushbacks against gender and health rights are impacting HIV key populations.
Session speakers will present their analysis on impact of the proposed regressive Draft ‘African Charter on Family, Sovereignty and Values’, regressive Geneva Consensus Declaration, criminalisation of HIV key populations including gender diverse communities, funding cuts, and other backlashes impacting health and gender rights, especially in context of HIV, and broader sexual and reproductive health, rights and justice.
